Summer Workshop 2022

August 10, 2022 - August 11, 2022

A special summer workshop was held a New Trier high school in Northbrook, on August 10-11. Nate, Shira, and Mark met with four students to develop procedures for the Moon Shadow analysis. Several example data sets were analyzed; students plan to complete this phase of analysis for all days that the Moon’s maximum zenith angle during its meridian crossing is within ten degrees of their school‘s telescope alignment. The next analysis meeting is scheduled for Sunday Oct. 30th. The group currently collects data collection for the Moon Shadow experiment at four locations aimed at four zenith angles: 70, 60, 55, and 26 degrees.  Dave assisted Shira to find a broken GPS cable.
