Summer Workshop 2002

July 26, 2002 - Aug 3, 2002

A shorter workshop this year focused on performing several different experiments listed above with our existing detectors. We learned more about our DAQ electronics, updated the group on new features of the muon lifetime experiment available on the web, and planned which modern physics laboratories to add to teachers’ classrooms. Our main project was the design and construction of a 3-counter cosmic telescope and field trip to the top of the Sears Tower to verify Einstein’s concept of relative time: Time Dilation.
